A 1,000-year-old promise, Muslim Family holds the key to the Holiest Church in Jerusalem

The Holiest  Church in Jerusalem opens every morning for the past 1000 years by a Muslim family epitomises the multi-religious and diverse living in the Holy Land.

A 53-year-old man name Adeeb Jawad Joudeh Al Husseini guards the gate to the Holy Sepulchre which is believed to be the church which contain the tomb of Jesus. He has in possession the key which was passed on by his father, grandfather and forefathers before then which unlocks the doors to the church. The 20cm-long key iron key is believed to be given by the great Saladin Persian who conquered Jerusalem in 1187 from the Crusades.
