SA Hajj Quota – Increased

The South African Hajj quota has been restored to 2500 for the year 2017 (1438). The reduction in global quotas has been reversed.

This is good news as we will be allowed to take a further 500 Hujjaj, increasing the previously set quota of 200o to 2500 people.

Official South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) statement:

"We hereby inform the Muslim Community of South Africa, that in its meeting with the Ministry of Hajj today, 22nd January 2017, that it has officially been notified of the 20 {8f3afa1e67e35c199187c9a5e2359108644112cd924b72095f04ac2382162f62} reinstatement of the Quota

"We are pleased to advise that the official quota for Hajj 1438, is 2 500. During our deliberations, the SAHUC Protocol team further requested for an increase in the quota in excess of the 2 500.
